MAMMOGRAMS GO MOBILE: The Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center Mobile Mammography Unit is traveling the region. The state-of-the-art mobile unit uses the same high-quality technology and equipment to perform the mammogram that can be found at the center.

Upcoming mobile mammography screening dates include:

• 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. today — Howland Primary Care, 1932 Niles Cortland Road, Howland;

• 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday — East Palestine Primary Care, 132 N. Market St., East Palestine;

• 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Thursday — Vienna Primary Care, 341 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Vienna.

• 8 to 11:30 a.m. Aug 1 — Talsman Primary Care, 61 Talsman Drive, Canfield;

• 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. Aug. 1 — Canfield Primary Care, 3660 Stutz Drive, Canfield;

• 8 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 3 — Churchill Primary Care, 4694 Belmont Ave., Youngstown;

Mammograms are usually a covered benefit with most insurance carriers. Financial assistance for mobile screenings is also available. The patient’s physician will receive a copy of the results.

DENTAL CARE OFFERED: The Buhl Regional Health Foundation with the Hubbard Public Library and Mercy Health Foundation-Mahoning Valley will provide dental care for those without access to regular dental treatment. The Mobile Smile Station, provided through sponsorship, will be at the Hubbard Public Library parking lot, 436 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, every month through the end of 2022. Dates include this Friday, and Aug. 31, Sept. 30, Oct. 21, Nov. 30, and Dec. 29.

The Mobile Smile Station is staffed by a team of dentists and hygienists and is equipped to provide oral exams, teeth cleanings, sealants, fillings, dental X-rays, denture adjustments, fluoride treatments, tooth extractions and oral hygiene instruction.

SURVIVORS OF SUICIDE SUPPORT GROUP MONTHLY MEETING: Help Network of Northeast Ohio will host a survivors of suicide support group 6 p.m. Wednesday by conference call. Anyone grieving the death of a loved one to suicide may email cgrizinski@helpnetworkneo.org to register for the conference call.

EATING DISORDER HELP: The National Association for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia and other Eating Disorders will meet 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa.

IMMUNIZATION CLINICS: The Warren City Health Department is offering a Walk-in COVID Clinic for ages 12 and older from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. No appointment is necessary, and all clinics are on a walk-in basis.

FAMILY ALZHEIMER SUPPORT: The Alzheimer’s Network Family Support Groups offer seven local meeting sites in Austintown, Boardman, Girard, Howland, Poland and Salem, and Hermitage, Pa. For directions, registration and general information, call 330-788-9755. Some sites may be full, but all are provided free of charge.

WELLNESS CENTER PROGRAMS: The Niles Wellness Center is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. To register for any program or for more information, call the center at 330-349-9355 or email Chelsey Christie at cchristie@thecityofniles.com.

The center is a family membership facility and welcomes all SilverSneakers, Silver and Fit, and Renew Active participants. Also offered is a fully equipped weight room, four-lane indoor track, basketball court and a soccer field.

Through a partnership with Mercy Health and its Stepping Out Program, the center offers the following classes:

• Zumba, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays;

•Line dancing, 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays;

• SilverSneakers endurance class, 10 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays;

• Pickleball, 7 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday.

MVI HOSPICE CARE: Bereavement support groups are free to anyone who has lost a loved one, including a pet. Contact 330-759-9487 for information. Sessions are 1 to 3 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at First Presbyterian Church of Warren Fellowship Hall, 256 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, and 1 to 3 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month and 6 to 8 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month at the Boardman Park Georgeanna Parker Administration Building, 375 Boardman Poland Road, Boardman.

ST. JOE’S AT THE MALL: St. Joe’s at Eastwood Mall’s hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, located next to JCPenney and Kay Jewelers. All classes are open to anyone with a St. Joe’s at the Mall membership. Screenings and programs are open to the public. Some classes are by registration only due to social distancing guidelines. Strong People Gym membership is $24 monthly, with appointment initially with exercise physiologist.

Weekly exercise classes include Cardio Jam, SilverSneaker Classic and Cardio, Cardio Jam, Cardio Combo, Zumba, chair yoga, floor yoga, beginning and advanced balance classes, 60-up balance class, and Parkinson’s and movement disorder exercise classes.

• Free blood pressure screenings, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday;

• Free nutritional assessment with a dietitian on Fridays by appointment only;

• Free notary public services and living wills and durable power of attorney for health care, 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.

• Wednesday — 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Special Lab Express, get thyroid (TSH), $10; prostate (PSA), $10; comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), $10, eight-hour fast required; complete blood count (CBC), $10; and / or HgA1c (diabetes), $15. No fast required. Walk in.

NARCAN FOR OVERDOSES: The Trumbull County Combined Health District urges residents to help slow the increase of overdoses in the community by taking advantage of free Narcan through the district.

Narcan quickly reverses the effects of opioids such as heroin and fentanyl, and anyone can be trained by one of the district’s employees to administer the life-saving medication and receive a free kit containing two doses.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT: The Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater East Ohio Area Chapter makes Alzheimer’s caregiver support groups available free of charge. They are open to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one affected by the disease or another form of dementia.

• Howland — 7 p.m. second Tuesday, Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road NE.

• Warren — 10 a.m. third Wednesday, Trumbull Regional Medical Center, 1350 E. Market St., conference room F, Warren.
